Looking for a meaningful way to spend the upcoming PA Day?
Give your child the confidence and skills they need to stay safe and give yourself a little peace of mind.
The Canadian Red Cross Stay Safe Course is designed for youth ages 8 to 13 and focuses on helping kids feel comfortable and capable when they’re home alone or out in the community without direct supervision.
Through hands-on learning and real-life scenarios, participants will build confidence, independence, and important safety awareness.
What they’ll learn:
- How to make safe choices and take responsibility
- Setting and following safety rules when home alone
- Staying safe at home and in the community
- How to handle unexpected situations (strangers, bad weather, surprise visitors)
- Basic first aid skills
By the end of the day, your child will feel more prepared and you’ll feel more confident knowing they have the tools to handle being on their own next time.

Note:
Registration and Payment Options
- Registration is mandatory.
- Pay Online: A 3% transaction fee applies to all credit card payments.
- Pay Later: Pay by cash, e-transfer (finance@mcnabbraeside.com) or debit at the Township office.
Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancellations will not be issued when less than 3 days notice is provided. The refund method depends on the original form of payment and may take up to four weeks.
- No refunds for requests received after this period.
- Unless otherwise stated, full refunds will be issued when programs are cancelled by the Township.
- Refund requests for programs that have already started will be considered only at the discretion of the Recreation Director. Approval of any refund, full or partial, will depend on the circumstances of the request and the portion of the program completed.
