Programs

Our Preschool 1/2 Program, designed for children ages 3 to 5 years, focuses on building a healthy respect for the water while fostering an early appreciation for swimming. Through basic aquatic progressions, we help children become comfortable in the water and have fun developing foundational water skills.
Parents are encouraged to participate alongside their child until they feel confident enough to go on their own.

Participants will learn the following skills:

• Learn how to safely get in and out of the water
• Jump into chest-deep water with confidence
• Float and glide on their front and back while wearing a lifejacket
• Get their faces wet and practice blowing bubbles underwater
• Submerge their faces and exhale underwater

Eligibility: For children 3 to 5 years old.

All lessons are taught by certified instructors following the Life Saving Society of Canada’s Swim for Life curriculum.

Important: Parents or guardians must remain at the beach and be within sight of their child(ren) during lessons.

Burnstown Beach

10:45 - 11:15 AM

Two-week session with daily classes (no classes on Fridays):

• July 7th - 10th
• July 14th - 17th

Lessons are scheduled during non-peak beach hours to ensure optimal focus for both participants and instructors. While we understand this may not be convenient for everyone, water safety remains our top priority.

Cancellation Policy:

• In the event of inclement weather, lessons will be canceled. (Light rain = lessons proceed, Thunder, lightning, or heavy rain = lessons canceled).

Refund Policy:

• No refunds for missed lessons, including those canceled due to weather.
• Exception: If more than two classes are canceled due to weather, a refund will be issued for the third canceled class and any subsequent lessons in that session.

Important Registration Notice:

• Registration will open to residents only on Tuesday, April 1st at 9:00AM and to non-residents on Friday, April 4th at 9:00AM
• Please ensure that the child, not the parent/guardian, is registered for the class.
